12.Install the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see “Installing the PCI Riser Assembly” on page 22.
13.Install the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Installing the Processor Air Duct” on page 29.
14.Install the server system cover. For instructions, see “Installing the Server System Cover”.
15.Plug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable into the server.
Replacing the Front Panel Board
Caution: The control panel is NOT hot swappable. Before removing or replacing the control panel, you must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to the system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug the AC power cord from the system or wall outlet.
Your server must be operated with a control panel installed.
1.Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See “Safety Information” on page iii.
2.Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3.Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Server System Cover” on page 14.
4.Remove the power supply cables from the cable harness.
5.(optional) For easier access, lift the power supply from place.
Note: For ease of access, lift the front panel board from the server before disconnecting the cables.
6.Remove the screw that attaches the front panel board to the server system. See letter “A” in the figure below. Save these screws. You will
7.Slide the front panel board rearward and then lift it from the server. See letter “B” in the figure.
Caution: When disconnecting the cables to the front panel board, be careful not to bend or twist the board.
8.Disconnect the front panel cable and the USB cables from the front panel board. For ease of identification, the USB cables are two different colors. Note which color is attached to which server board.
