+CGSMS, Select Service for MO SMS Messages

This command handles the selection of the service or service preference used by the G24 to send

mobile-originated SMS messages.

Note: This command is network dependent, which means that the network must support SMS

over GPRS.

The following table shows the +CGSMS parameters.

+CME ERROR: <err>
The Set command selects the service
or service preference used to send
SMS messages. The value that is set is
not retained after a power cycle.
Read +CGSMS? +CGSMS: <service>
+CME ERROR: <err>
The Read command displays the
current SMS service preference
setting.
Test +CGSMS=? +CGSMS: (list of
currently available
<service>s)
+CME ERROR: <err>
The Test command displays a list of
currently available <service>s on the
network.

<Parameter> Description
<service> Indicates the service or service preference to be used.
0GPRS
1 Circuit switched (default)
2 GPRS preferred (use circuit switched if GPRS is not available)
3 Circuit switched preferred (use GPRS if circuit switched is not available)
Other values are reserved and will result in an ERROR response to the Set command.
