Chapter 5 Managing the Passport 8672ATME Module with the CLI 111

Table 38 Information fields for output of the show ports stats atm sonetmediumtbl command (continued)

Field

Description

TIME ELAPSED

Number of seconds, including partial seconds, that have

elapsed since the beginning of the current measurement

period. If the current interval exceeds the maximum value,

the agent will return the maximum value.

VALID INTERVALS

Number of previous 15-minute intervals for which data was

collected.

LINE CODING

Line coding for this interface. The B3ZS and CMI are used

for electrical SONET/SDH signals (STS-1 and STS-3). The

Non-Return to Zero (NZR) and the Return to Zero are used

for optical SONET/SDH signals.

LINE TYPE

Line type for this interface. The line types are Single Mode

fiber or Multi-Mode fiber interfaces.

CIRCUIT ID

Transmission vendor’s circuit identifier, to facilitate

troubleshooting.

Configuring ATM F5-OAM End-to-End Loopback

A Passport 8672ATME Module, by default, replies to ATM F5-OAM Loopback requests received. However, the transmission of F5-OAM Loopback requests and the processing of F5-OAM Loopback replies received require enabling this feature on a PVC by PVC basis. It is recommended that you enable ATM

F5-OAM on all the PVCs configured on the PP8672 ATM port in order for upper layer protocols such as MLT and OSPF to be immediately aware of the port down status or link failures.

You can enable and define the parameters of the ATM F5-OAM Loopback feature and display statistics with Device Manager or the CLI. For information on how to configure this feature with the Device Manager, see Chapter 4, “Managing the Passport 8672ATME Module with Device Manager,” on page 47 .

The F5-OAM loopback feature uses the following CLI commands:

config atm pvc f5-oam command

show ports info atm pvc [slot/port]

show ports info atm f5-oam [slot/port]

clear atm f5-oam [slot/port]
