To remove the hard disk

Caution: Do not use an electric or magnetized screwdriver near the hard disk. You can lose the information stored on the disk. Shock can damage the hard disk. Do not drop or hit the hard disk drive.

1Attach one end of a grounding strap to your wrist and the other end to a grounded metal surface.

2Remove the Serial ATA cable and the power cable from the hard disk by pressing the clips on the latch. Refer to Figure 73 for the location of the cable.

3Lift the hard disk and hard disk bracket out of the main unit and place them on a flat, clean, static-free surface.

4Remove the four screws that secure the hard disk to the hard disk bracket (see Figure 74 on page 196).
