1. Main ofﬁce B determines that LOC 444 is to a local Branch Ofﬁce with

preﬁx 225. The system transmits 225-444-3456 to the NRS. The NRS

checks its provisioning, and determines that this call goes to Branch

Ofﬁce B1.

2. The main ofﬁce sends the call to 225-444-3456 to the Branch Ofﬁce.

The Branch Ofﬁce deletes the preﬁx, discoversthe call is to its HLOC,

deletes the HLOC, and rings set 3456.

Summary of provisioning procedures for Tandem BandwidthManagement

Use Procedure 3 "Provisioning TandemBandwidth Management" (page

106) to provision the network.

Step Action

1Enter the main ofﬁce Gateway endpoint identiﬁer in the Tandem

Endpoint ﬁeld for each Branch Ofﬁce gateway conﬁgured on the

NRS. This provides tandeming for outbound calls from a Branch

Ofﬁce through its main ofﬁce. See step 1.

2Plan the gateway routing preﬁxes,if not already done. Atleast one

preﬁx is needed per Branch Ofﬁce, although any branch ofﬁces

that have a preﬁx forESA "911" calls does not necessar ily require

another. (These preﬁxes will be SPN - Special Number - entries.)

See step 2.

3Provision the NRS to send all calls to a LOC without a gateway

routing preﬁx to the main ofﬁce of that LOC, or to the main ofﬁce
