IntroductionTo install a Branch Ofﬁce:

Step Action

1Upgrade the main ofﬁce to CS 1000 Release 5.0 software. For

more information, refer to Communication Server 1000E Upgrades

(NN43041-458) or CS 1000M and Meridian 1 Large System

Upgrades Overview (NN43021-458).

2Conﬁgure the Branch Ofﬁce implementation parameters at the main

ofﬁce before installing the Branch Ofﬁce. These parameters are the

dialing plan, zoneparameters, IP Phone parameters, and passwords.

A CS 1000 Release 5.0 Branch Ofﬁce can only be added to a CS 1000E or

1000M main ofﬁce running CS 1000 Release 5.0 software. However, branch

ofﬁces already existing in the network can be running a previous release of

software. In this case, you must choose whether or not to upgrade the set
