5Insert the new drum cartridge. Press down firmly on both ends to lock the drum in place.
Resetting the Drum Counter
Use this function to reset the drum counter when you replace the image drum and to clear the CHANGE DRUM message.
To reset the image drum counter:
1Press Menu/Exit to enter the menu.
2Press ▼ until the > symbol is beside COUNTER.
3Press Enter twice.
4Press Clear twice.
5Press Menu/Exit to return to standby mode.
6Lift out the toner well cover and discard.
7Install a new toner cartridge. Follow steps in “Replacing the Toner Cartridge” in this section.
Cleaning the Scanner Path
To ensure the best possible scanning quality, paper lint and dust should be cleaned from the area around the contact image sensor (a) periodically. Open the control panel and gently wipe off the area over the scanner.
