Paae Retransmission:

If the terminal you are sending to Indicates that it did not properly receive the page you Just sent, your terminal will resend that page from memory. This only works If you used Memory Mode and if you are not using ECM. (ECM is a more effective data retransmission method )

Polling File:

This IS a set of instructions (destinations to be polled, time of polling) for polllng reception

Pulse Dialing: —.

This method of dialing uses a string pulses to represent each dialed digit

Reception:

The act of receiving a document

Reduction:

If your document is wider than the paper available in the other terminal, your terminal will au- tomatically reduce it so that it will fit.

Remote Terminal:

The facsimile terminal that you are sending to or receiving from

SAF:

Store and forward

SAF File:

Same as “Memory File”, see above.

SAF Memory:

This is the memory used for storing documents.

Sending:

Same as “Transmission”, see below

Standby Mode:

The terminal IS said to be in standby mode when it is idle.

Terminal:

A facsimile terminal, such as your machine.

Time Designation:

This is programming an operation to take place at a later time (e.g.: Send Later, Poll Later)

Transmission:

The act of sending a document
