8-5 Voice Request
With this feature, you can speak with the remote terminal operator before or after transmis- sion or reception. You can also interrupt communication to speak to the other party.
For Voice Request to be effective, both terminals must:
●Have a telephone or handset connected.
. Have the voice request function.

Note: To speak with the remote terminal operator before sending a message, dial the remote terminal on the telephone connected to your terminal and proceed as de- scribed on page

1To talk with the remote terminal operator at the end of communication. If you are transmitting:
1)Start the transmission. Wait for the Communicating indicator to light.
2)Press Voice Request.
3)When your machine sounds a tone, pick up the handset, press the Stop key, and speak.
Note: | If your machine does not sound a tone, the remote terminal operator did not |
| come to the phone. The line will be disconnected automatically. |
4) Replace the handset after speaking.
If you are receiving:
1 ) Press Voice Request while the Communicating indicator is lit.
2) When the machine sounds a tone, pickup the handset, press Stop, and speak.
Note: | If your machine does not sound a tone, the remote terminal operator did not |
| come to the phone. The line will disconnect automatically. |
3) Replace the handset after speaking.
