You will have to configure both the AM700 and the printer to respond correctly.
Setting up the AM700. In Configure menus under System Setup Copy set the Copy
Format to HP printer type. Select the output port from the Copy Destination
choices.
Setting up the port for communications is done in the Configure menus under the
System Setup Communicate choices, shown in Figure 1–5. For the selected port, set
the Baud Rate to any value from 300 to 19200, set Protocol to None, Flow Control
to XON/XOFF, Reset Character to None, Parity to None, Character Size to 8, and
Carrier Detect to Disabled.
Setting up the HP LaserJet, DeskJet, or ThinkJet. Set the baud rate to the same as
the AM700.
Table 1–9 lists the wiring connections for making a cable to use with an HP LaserJet
printer.
