HSet the horizontal SCALE to 400 ps (500 ps for TDS5054BE).
HFrom the toolbar bar, click Horiz, and s elect the Acquisitiontab.
HClick Average, and set the number of averages to 16.
c. Hook up the test-signal source:
HConnect the sine wave output of a sine wave generatorto a 50 Ω
precision coaxial cable.
HConnect the cable to eithera coupler or power divider and two 50 Ω
precision coaxialcables, as shown in F igure2 --13. (See note below.)
NOTE. Toensure that you do not introduce errors into the delaymeasurements,
use cables that havea delay difference of less than 10 ps between each other.
Youcan check the variance in delay between cables by connecting the cables to
CH1and CH 2. and, using theVbarcursors, measure the delay. Reverse the
cables and repeatthe measurement. Divide the difference between the two delay
measurementsby 2.If the result is les s than 10 ps, you can proceed with the test.
HConnect the coupler or cablesto C H 1 and CH 2. See Figure 2--13.

2. Confirm all four channels arewithin limits for channel delay:
a. Set up the generator: Set the generatorfrequency to 250 MHz and the
amplitude at six to eightdivisions for CH 1.
