a. Display the test signal: Set the output of the sine wave generatorfor a
100 MHz, five-division sinewave on the screen; then press PUSH TO
SET 50%.
b. Set the trigger mode: Press the TriggerMODE button to toggle it to
NORMAL.
c. Set upper and lower limits that ensuretriggering: See Figure 2--19 on
page 2--47.
HPress the front-panel ADVANCED button, and select the AEvent
tab; then selectwidth triggering by clicking the Width button.
HClick the Trig Wh en button, and select Inside limits.
HClick Upper Limit, and use the keyboard to set the upper limit to
10 ns: press 10, then n,andENTER.
HClick Lower Limit, and use the keypad to set the lower limit to
2ns.
d. Change limits until triggering stops:
HPressPUSH TO SET 50%.
HWhile implementingthe following substeps, monitor the display (it
will stop acquiring)and the front-panel light TRIG’D (it will
extinguish) to determinewhen triggering is lost. Click Close.
HClick Lower Limit.
HUse the multipurpose knob to increase the Lower Limit readoutuntil
triggering is lost.
HCHECK that the Lower Limit readout, after the oscilloscopeloses
triggering, is within 3.5 ns to 6.5 ns, inclusive.
HEnter the time in the test record.
HUse the keypadto return the Lower Limit to 2nsandreest ablish
triggering.
HClick Upper Limit; then use the multipurpose knob to slowly
decrease the Upper Limit readout until triggeringis lost.
HCHECK that the Upper Limit readout, after the oscilloscopeloses
triggering, is within 3.5 ns to 6.5 ns, inclusive.
HEnter the time in the test record.
