Printer driver Software installed on a client workstation, enabling application
programs to interact with the printer without having to concern
themselves with specific printer requirements. The GL-1020
printer drivers provide extended document print, layout and
assembly functions that few applications supply.
Print profile A set of user-defined properties that are saved locally so that
complex documents can be configured quickly and easily. Print
profiles can be thought of as printing templates.
Private folder A folder that belongs to a registered user. Only that user and
the system administrator can access the folder.
Private Print A job type that allows you to hold a confidential document in
the print queue until you are ready to collect it from the copier.
You assign the document an identification number which you
enter from the copier’s control panel to print the document.
Proof Print A job type that allows you to print the first copy of a multi-copy
job for approval before releasing and printing the remaining
copies.
Public folder A TopAccessComposer system folder to whic h all users have
read and write access.
Remote operations Those operations that affect the controller’s or digital copier’s
functionality, but are performed from a client or administrator
workstation across the network. An example of a remote
operation is printing a document from your workstation that is
output on the digital copier.
Scheduled Print A job type that allows you to schedule your print job for a future
date and time.
SNMP Simple Network Management Protocol. The protocol used for
communication between the controller and devices connected
to the network. For a more technical definition of this term,
