Configuring COM port Getting COM
port number You need the COM port number to configure the terminal emulator. To get the COM
port number, do the following:

1. On the desktop, right click on the “my computer” icon and select
“Device manager” to open the “computer management” window.
2. Click on “Device manager” to open the Device manager’s panel (screen
right panel) shown in Figure 24.

3. Expand the Ports (COM & LPT) in the right column and write down the
USB COM port number for configuring the terminal emulator software
used for the USB Device.
