Management Mode

7.1 Overview

This chapter discusses using the NWA3000-N series AP in management mode, which determines whether the NWA3000-N series AP is used in its default standalone mode, or as part of a Control And Provisioning of Wireless Access Points (CAPWAP) network.

7.2 About CAPWAP

The NWA3000-N series AP supports CAPWAP. This is ZyXEL’s implementation of the CAPWAP protocol (RFC 5415).

The CAPWAP dataflow is protected by Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS).

The following figure illustrates a CAPWAP wireless network. You (U) configure the AP controller (C), which then automatically updates the configurations of the managed APs (M1 ~ M4).
