Consulte también el Programa de Mantenimiento. Siga los intervalos por horas de operación o por calendario, lo que ocurra primero. Se requiere un servicio más frecuente cuando se opere bajo condicio- nes adversas.

Para prevenir un arranque acciden- tal, remueva el ca-

ble de la bujía ™ y conéctelo a tierra antes de darle servicio, y desconecte la batería, en la

terminal negativa, si está equipado.

Servicio para el Aceite (vea la fig. ¦)

Compruebe el nivel de aceite con regularidad. Asegúrese de mantener el correcto nivel de aceite. Compruébelo cada 5 horas o diariamente, antes de darle arranque al motor. Consulte el procedimiento de llenado de aceite en el aparte: “Recomendaciones para el Aceite”.

Cambie aceite

Cambie aceite después de las primeras 5 horas de operación. Cambie aceite mientras que el motor esté caliente. Rellene con aceite nuevo del grado de

viscosidad SAE recomendado. (vea la fig. ©)

Reductor, si está equipado

Remueva el tapón de llenado de aceite š y el tapón de nivel de aceite ›. Drene aceite cada 100 horas de operación o cada estación. Para acabar de llenar, vierta aceite SAE 30 en el orificio de llenado de aceite hasta que salga por el orificio de comprobación de nivel. Coloque ambos tapones. El tapón de llenado de aceite tiene un orificio de ventilación œ y debe ser instalado en la parte superior de la tapa de la caja del reductor.

Servicio para el filtro de aire (vea la fig. §)

Cambie el pre-filtro š, si está equipado, y/o el cartucho

›si está muy sucio o dañado.

1.Afloje los tornillos o remueva la perilla. Después remueva la tapa.

2.Remueva el pre-filtro, si está equipado, y el cartucho cuidadosamente para prevenir que caigan desechos dentro del carburador.

Para darle servicio al pre-filtro, lávelo en detergente líquido y agua. Escúrralo hasta secarlo en un trapo limpio. Satúrelo en aceite para motor. Escúrralo hasta secarlo con un trapo absorbente para remover TODO EL EXCESO de aceite.

Mantenimiento (Continuación)

Para darle servicio al cartucho, límpielo golpeándolo ligeramente sobre una superficie plana. No use solventes a base de petróleo, tal como, kerosene, el cual ocasionará que se deteriore el cartucho. No use aire presurizado, ya que este puede dañar el cartucho. No aceite el cartucho.

3.Reinstale el cartucho y el pre-filtro, si está equipado.

4.Coloque la tapa y apriete los tornillos o la perilla firmemente.

Servicio para la bujía (vea la fig. ¨)

NO compruebe chispa si removió la bujía. Use úni- camente el Probador de Chispa Briggs & Stratton š, para comprobar chispa.

NO haga girar el motor si se removió la bujía. Si el motor está inundado, coloque el acelerador en la posición FAST y de arranque hasta que prenda el motor.)

El entrehierro de la bujía ›debe ser de .76 mm o 0.030 pulgadas.

Limpie/cambie la bujía cada 100 horas o cada esta- ción, lo que ocurra primero. Se dispone de llaves de bujía en cualquier Centro de Servicio Autorizado Briggs & Stratton.

Nota: En algunas áreas las leyes locales requieren el uso de una bujía con resistencia para suprimir las señales de encendido. Si este motor vino originalmen- te equipado con una bujía con resistencia, use el mismo tipo de bujía cuando la vaya a cambiar.

Mantenga limpio el motor (vea la fig. ¨)

Remueva periódicamente los residuos y desechos acumulados en el motor. Limpie el protector de dedos. No use atomizador con agua para limpiar el motor ya que el agua podría contaminar el combustible. Límpie- lo con un cepillo o con aire comprimido.

Una acumulación de desechos alre- dedor del mofle œ podría ocasionar una explosión. Inspecciónelo y lím- pielo antes de cada uso.

Mantenga los controles, los resortes y las varillas del regulador limpios y sin residuos para asegurar un funcionamiento suave.

Si el mofle viene equipado con malla atrapachispas , remueva la malla atrapachispas para su limpieza e inspección cada 50 horas o cada estación. Cámbiela si está dañada.

Limpie el sistema de enfriamiento. Los residuos o desechos pueden obstruir el sistema de enfriamiento de aire del motor, especialmente después de una operación prolongada. Las aletas de enfriamiento internas y las superficies pueden requerir limpieza para prevenir recalentamiento y daños en el motor. Remueva la tapa del ventilador y límpiela como se indica ž.
