Enabling Authentication Error Trap Generation

To enable authentication error trap generation:

1From the SNMP Configuration menu, type 3 then press ENTER . The system enables authentication trap generation.

2Type 4 then press ENTER . The system prompts you to enter the IP address for the first trap receiver.

3Type the IP address, in decimal-dotted notation, then press ENTER . The SNMP Configuration menu displays.

4Type 5 then press ENTER . The system prompts you to enter the character string for the first trap receiver.

5Type a string of up to 64 characters then press ENTER . The SNMP Configuration menu displays. If you are only using one trap receiver, you have finished setting up authentication error trap generation. Otherwise, continue to set up the second trap receiver.

6Type 6 then press ENTER . The system prompts you to enter the IP address for the second trap receiver.

7Type the IP address, in decimal-dotted notation, then press ENTER . The SNMP Configuration menu displays.

8Type 7 then press ENTER . The system prompts you to enter the character string for the second trap receiver.

9Type a string of up to 64 characters then press ENTER . The SNMP Configuration menu displays.
