Nothing is printed; no paper comes out of the printer.
Try the following steps:
mMake sure the printer is turned on.
mIf you are using background printing, check for error messages.
(Double-click the desktop icon for the printer you’re using.)
mIf you have several printer icons on your desktop, make sure the one you
printed to is the same as the one where you’re looking for the printed
document.
mTry printing again, but select the PrintDetailed Report option. (Choose the
Print command, click the Options button, then choose the PrintDetailed
Report from the PostScript Errors pop-up menu.)
mCheck the Chooser to be sure the printer is selected. Be sure to select the
printer’s name, as well as the LaserWriter 8 icon and, if necessary, the
AppleTalk network zone.
mCheck the Paper Out light. If it is on, add paper and replace the paper
cassette. If it is blinking, make sure the paper cassette is securely in place.
mCheck for a paper jam as described in Chapter 11.
mCheck the network cables.
mTur n t he printer off and back on. Check the startup page.
mReinstall the printer software on your computer’s startup disk.
A message on the screen says the printer can’t print.
Try these steps:
mMake sure that the printer is turned on.
mCheck the network cables.
mMake sure your startup disk has the LaserWriter 8 printer driver in the
Extensions folder, which is inside the System Folder.
mMake sure the printer is selected in the Chooser. Be sure to select the
printer’s name as well as the LaserWriter 8 icon and, if your network has
zones, the correct AppleTalk network zone.
mMake sure that the printer has paper correctly installed.
