8Click Add New.

Another dialog box opens.

9Make sure “Magnetic disk” is selected, then click Add.

10Complete the dialog box as follows:

m Fill in the Available Memory box with the number of kilobytes your hard disk can store.

m If you have Font Metrics files for the fonts, you can check the Read Font Metrics Files checkbox.

m Make sure the Volatile checkbox is not checked. m Make sure the Writable checkbox is checked.

11Click Add.

A dialog box opens.

12Type a name for the hard disk.

13Click a button to indicate which SCSI number the hard disk has.

If it’s an internal hard disk, the SCSI number is 0.

14Click OK.

You return to the Device Installer dialog box.

15Click Close.

If the hard disk installed is already initialized in Apple HFS format, you can now download fonts. If not, go on to initialize the hard disk.
