Setting the printer’s error timeout

Occasionally, a user may send a job to the printer, then experience a computer problem, such as a power failure. Other users with print jobs in the queue must wait until the printer cancels the problem job. Use the I/O Error Timeout panel to tell the printer how long to wait before going on to print the next job in the queue.

1Open the Communication Configuration category.

You see a list of communication settings options.

2Open the I/O Error Timeout category.

3In the panel that appears, choose the time you want the printer to wait.

Select a time for each interface you use with the printer.

Choose a time interval from the pop-up menu.

4 To send the settings to the printer, click Send.
