60 minute CD, it will take anywhere from
10 minutes to 60 minutes. Once this
is done, the album will become part of
your music library. Connect your AV400
to your computer with the supplied USB
cable. Now, go to the Sync tab and tell
Windows Media® Player to synchronize
that album to your AV400. It will then
transfer that album to your AV400.

Note: Some music CDs have a special

copy protection system that will not

allow Windows Media® Player to make

music files from them.

11.4 Installing Windows Media® Player 9 (WMP9)
If you have Windows® 98SE, ME, and 2000, you
should use Windows Media® Player 9. You can
visit the Microsoft® Website to download the
very latest version, or install the version found
on the AV400 itself.
Copy the Installation folder and run the installer
First, make sure the AV400 is in Hard Drive mode. From the main menu
of the AV400 go to Setup, then System, and then set USB to Hard
Drive using the RIGHT button.
1) Connect the AV400 to your computer with the supplied USB cable.
(See the section of the manual on connecting the AV400 to your computer
if you are unfamiliar with the computer connection.)
2) Open the hard drive AV400 with Windows® Explorer (or double click
on it in My Computer).
3) Open up the folder named Archos and then open the folder PC
Installation. Double-click on the file named Setup.exe (it may just be
shown as Setup).
4) Click on the + icon next to the Windows Media® Player 9 installer to
see which languages are available. Double-click on the desired language
and follow the on-screen instructions.
