SERVSWITCH™ MULTI

not attempt to execute the new firmware code, but will continue using the old firmware until a successful
transfer is made.
Choosing option Q (by pressing “Q” on your terminal keyboard—it doesn’t matter whether it’s upper- or
lowercase) exits the firmware-configuration menu and transfers control from the terminal PC back to the user
console from which you originally issued the command to access the menu.
At any point that the terminal is at a prompt (when the Switch is idle, waiting for input from the terminal),
you can go back to the console from which you entered the command to access the firmware-configuration
menu; from there, you can send the Switch the <CM>ZQ[Enter] command to force the Switch out of firmware-
upgrade mode and back into normal operation. This command can come in very handy if you access the menu
before realizing that your terminal-capable computer is not on, is not properly connected, isn’t running the
terminal software yet, etc. Once a firmware transfer has started, this command has no effect; you’ll have to wait
for the transfer to finish, then try again. If possible, you should exit from the firmware-configuration menu by
pressing Q at the menu prompt (see the previous paragraph) rather than sending <CM>ZQ[Enter].
