ERROR MESSAGE	CAUSE	ACTION

COVER OPEN	The front cover was not completely closed.	Open, then close, the front cover.

DISCONNECTED	The other party or other party’s fax machine	Try to transmit, calling the other party

DOCUMENT JAM	Documents were not inserted or fed	Do not pull paper out until you see

DOWNLOAD FULL	The download buffer is full.	Press FF/Cont. Printing will resume

MACHINE ERROR XX	MFC has a mechanical problem	Cut the power off. Then contact your
		Brother dealer for service.

MEMORY FULL	You can’t store data in the memory.	See Memory Full Message in chap. 10.

NO RESPONSE/BUSY	The number you dialled does not answer or	Verify the number and try again.
