Using a USB Cable to Connect Brother MFC to a PC

(Using Windows® 98 Only)

Please find your Windows® 98 CD-ROM before you begin.

A USB cable is not included with your Brother machine. Before you can set up the USB interface, you must purchase a standard USB cable. Or, if you prefer to set up the parallel cable, please see “Connecting Brother MFC to PC Using Parallel Cable”.

1After you have set up the MFC and checked that it is working properly, make sure your MFC is turned on and your PC is turned off.

2Connect the USB cable to both the MFC and the PC.

3Turn on your PC.
