Control and Clock Cabling
This section describes the cables that can connect to the PXM-UI-S3 or PXM-UI-S3/B user inte rface
back card.

Maintenance and Control Ports

The maintenance (or modem) port and the control (or console) port connect a switch or gateway to an
ASCII terminal, workstation, or modem for remote alarm re porting or system monitoring. These ports
are labeled MP or CP on the user interface back card. See Figure2-63 on page 2-121 and Figure 2-64
on page 2-122 for the locations of these ports. Table B -3 provides cabling details.
