Insert the card-edge conne ctor firmly into the expansion-card connector until the card is fully seated.

When the card is seated in the connector, close the expansion-card latch. See Figure 3-12.

Connect any cables to the expan sion card.
See the documentation that came with the card for information about its cable connections.

Close the system. See "Opening and Closing the System" on pag e 46.
Removing an Expansio n Card
CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. You should only perform
troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or
telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not cover ed by your
warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

Turn off the system, including any attac hed peripherals, and discon nect the system from the electrical
outlet.

Open the system. See "Opening and Closing the System" on pag e 46.

Disconn ect all cables from the card.
