7. Reinstall the developer cartridge.
8. Press down the printer cover until it clicks shut.
9. When turning on the printer, hold down the On Line and
Continue buttons simulta neously for a few seconds until
the Paper, Toner, and Memory indicator lights turn on;
then release the buttons. Your printer’s Ph otoconductor
page counter is now reset.
Cleaning the Printer
The printer needs only minimal clea ning. If you notice a decline
in print quality, clean the inside of the printer as described in
this section.
You should also clean the paper cassette and the printer cover
every few months. These procedur es are described later in this
section.
Whenever you clean the printer or replace the components,
print a status sheet by pressing the Alt and the Form Feed
buttons simultaneously.

Cleaning the inside of the printer

Fine particles of dust can collect inside the printer. Follow the
steps below to clean the inside of the printer and the paper
feeder:
1. Make sure the printer is turned off.
2. Open the printer cover.

Opening the printer exposes the fuser, which is marked
CAUTION Hot Surface Avoid Contact.
