Introduction to Symbol Sets Your printer can access a variety of symbol sets. Many of these sym bol
sets differ only in the international characters specific to eac h language.
Note:
Normally, your softwar e handles fonts and sym bols, so you probably ne ver need
to adjust the printer’s settings. If you are writing your ow n printer control
programs, or if you are u sing older software that ca n n ot control fonts, refer t o the
following sections for symbol set details.
When you are considering which font to use, you should also con sider
which symbol set to combine with the font. Available symbol sets vary
depending on which emulation mode you use and whi ch font you choose.
