Hardware installation
VCAUTION!
Ensure that the safety lock has been inserted before the server is inserted (see figure 5 on page 54).
VCAUTION!
At least two people are needed to position the server in the rack.
(For the Japanese market, please refer to " 安全上の注意およびその他の 重要情報 ".)
ÊExtend the telescopic rails completely to the front (1).
IThey must click into place so that they can no longer be moved.
ÊLower the server from above onto the projecting telescopic rails (2), (3). As you do this, the locking bar (4) engages.
ÊPush the locking mechanism of both telescopic rails up (5).
ÊFor a final function test, slide the server in and out at least twice.The rails should move smoothly.
ÊPush the server as far as it will go into the rack (6).
ÊFasten the server to the rack (7) using the two knurled screws (front panel).
ÊRoute the cables as described in the technical manual for the rack in question with the server pushed in.
4.3.3Installation in 3rd party racks
IThe support systems from Fujitsu are suitable for use in any 3rd party racks for standard servers (installation depth 714 - 785 mm) without restrictions.
ÊRefer to the manual from the rack manufacturer for details of the mechanical installation and the climatic conditions.
VCAUTION!
When installing in 3rd party racks, it must be ensured that an air flow from the front to the back of the rack is guaranteed.
ÊFit the required original parts (support bracket or cable management system).
