Installing the Router without a Mechanical Lift
1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wris t and
connect the strap toone of the ESD points on the chassis. Make sure the router
is attached to a proper earth ground. For more information about ESD, see
“Preventing ElectrostaticDischarge Damage” on page 226.
2. Place one hand under the PCG to support itand grasp the thumbscrew on
the faceplate with the other hand.
3. AligntherearofthePCGwiththeguidesinsidethechassisandslideit
in completely.
4. Tighten the thumbscrew on the faceplate to seat the PCG firmly in the chassis.
5. Repeat the proc edure to reinstall the seco nd PCG.

Reinstalling the MCSs
The router can have an MCS in each of the slots labele d MCS0 and
MCS 1 at the rear of the chassis, as shown in Figure 3. To reinstall an
MCS, follow thi sp rocedure (see Figure 53):
1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wris t and
connect the strap toone of the ESD points on the chassis. Make sure the router
is attached to a proper earth ground. For more information about ESD, see
“Preventing ElectrostaticDischarge Damage” on page 226.
2. Place one hand under the MCS to support it and graspone of the extractor
clips on the faceplate with the other hand.
