3. Grasp the screwsat opposite corners of the impeller cover and slide the
assembly out of the chassis.

Removing the Fan Tray
The fan tray is located behind thecable management system on the front
of the chassis, justabove the air filter, as shown inFigure 1. The fan tray
contains four fans and weighsapproximately 13 lb (5.9 kg).
To remove the fant ray, follow this procedure (see Figure 40):
1. Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wris t and
connect the strap toone of the ESD points on the chassis. Make sure the router
is attached to a proper earth ground. For more information about ESD, see
“Preventing ElectrostaticDischarge Damage” on page 226.
2. Loosen the thumbscrew at each end of the fan tray,using a Phil lips screwdriver
if necessary.
