M160 Internet Router Hardware Guide
Before installing the chassis, perform the following prerequisite procedures:
Verifythat the router site meets the requirements described in “Preparing
for Router Installation” on page 59.
Place the rack in its permanent location, allowingadequate clearance for
airflow and maintenance,and secure it to the building structure. For details,
see Rack Requirements on page 59.
Read the information in “Installation Safety Guidelin es and Warnings”on p age
239, with particular attention to “Chassis Liftin g Guidelines” on page 239.
Remove the router from the shipping carton, as described in “Unpacking the
Router” on page 77.
Then install the routerby performing the procedures in the followingsections:

Tools and Parts Required
To install the chassis withoutusing a mechanical lift, you need
the following tools and parts:
Phillips (+) screwdrivers, numbers 1 and 2
Flat-blade screwdriver,approximately 1/4 in. (6 mm), for removing craft
interface
5/32-in. Allen (hexagonal) wrench for tightening t he mounting screws provided
in the accessory box; do notsubstitute a metric-size wrench
Electrostatic bags orantistatic mats, one for each electronic component
removed
Electrostatic discharge(ESD) grounding wrist strap

To makethe router light enough to install without a mechanical lift, youmust
remove most of the components.
