Moving and Transporting the Printer

RCAUTION:

When lifting the machine, use the grips on both sides of the ma- chine. If you drop the machine, it could break or cause an injury.

When you move the machine, re- member to unplug the power cord from the outlet. When you pull the plug out of the socket, hold it by the plug. If the cord is pulled out of the socket abruptly, it could become damaged. Dam- aged plugs or cords can cause an electrical or fire hazard.

When transporting paper, repack it with its original packing materials.

Transporting the printer

When transporting the printer, re- move all options and pack the options and printer into the box. To remove the options, follow in reverse order the procedure “Setting Up the Print- er” in the Setup Guide. For how to re- move the paper feed unit (PS420 or PS440), mailbox (CS370), and 500– sheet finisher (SR510), follow the pro- cedure below.

Paper Feed Unit (PS420 or PS440)

Remove cover 1 and 2 as follows:

A Push in the core of the screw by about 2 or 3 mm (0.08” or 0.1”) with a pointed object (A). Make sure the core is depressed slightly (B), and remove the screws.
