Paper and Other Media

Load only one size and type of envelope at a time.

Before loading envelopes, flatten the leading edges (sides being fed into the printer) of them by running a pencil or ruler across them.

Some kinds of envelopes might cause misfeeds, wrinkles or poor printing.

Before loading envelopes, confirm that they are rectangular in shape. See the following illustrations.

Avoid using the non-supported envelopes listed on P.28 “Paper not sup- ported by this printer”.

Paper not supported by this printer

Avoid using the following types of paper that are not supported by this printer:

Paper whose weight is heavier or lighter than the limitations. ⇒ P.17 “Paper Types and Sizes”

Bent, folded, or creased paper

Curled or twisted paper

Torn paper

Wrinkled paper

Damp paper

Paper stuck together

Paper that is dry enough to emit static electricity

Paper that has already been printed into, except a preprinted letterhead
