Use the following commands to configure the Forwarding Database (FDB) for the GbESM.

Command Syntax and Usage

static

Displays the static FDB menu. To view menu options, see page 238.

learn disableenable

Enables or disables FDB learning. The default value is enabled.

flood disableenable

Enables or disables flooding of packets with unknown MAC addresses to all ports.

The default value is enabled.

Note: If you disable FDB flooding, you must also disable FDB learning.

cur

Display current FDB configuration.

NOTE If you disable FDB learning and FDB flooding, manually add static MAC address entries for the management module, blade servers, and other connected devices. The static entries ensure that the GbESM retains connectivity to those devices. Use the following command to add static MAC address entries:

/cfg/l2/fdb/static/add
