EXPLANATION OF SQUARE ROOT:

This recorder uses the following square rooting-method: Let us define the items as follows:

Vmin = minimum value of recording span (SPAN L) Vmax= maximum value of recording span (SPAN R)

= minimum value of scale (SQRT SCL L) Fmax = maximum value of scale (SQRT SCL R)

= input voltage

Fx

= scaling value

The relationship between Vx (input voltage) and Fx (scaling value) is as shown in the graph below (the graph configuration is approximate).
