To enable your status to automatically change:

1From Home view, select Settings > Basic > Preferences > Presence > Idle Timeout.

2From the Idle Timeout screen, enable an office hours or off hours timeout period, and enter the number of minutes your phone can be idle before your status changes to Away.

Your phone is now set to change your status to away after the designated amount of time. Pressing any key on your phone returns your status to Online.

You can also view a list of the people you are watching and see their statuses from the Lines view on your phone.

Managing a Buddy List

If you want to monitor other people’s status from your phone, you need to add contacts to your Buddy list. You can add people to your Buddy list from your Contact Directory. You must make sure you add contacts to the Contact Directory to add them as buddies and monitor their status.

To add a contact to monitor on your Buddy list:

1From your Contact Directory, select a contact.

2From the contact’s information screen, press Edit.

3From the Edit Contact screen, navigate to Watch Buddy, and select enable or disable.

When enabled, the contact is added to your Buddy list so you can monitor the contact’s status.

When disabled, the contact is removed from your Buddy list, and you aren’t able to monitor the contact’s status.

4Press Save.

Power Tip: Dialing Buddies

You can quickly dial a buddy from your Buddy list. In Lines View, select More > Buddies, select a buddy, and press Dial.

To view the status of your buddies:

»From Lines view, press the More soft key, and press Buddies, as shown next.

The list of buddies displays.
