Cleaning the Print Cartridge Nozzles
If print quality does not improve after repeatedly printing the cleaning
page, the problem may be caused by dried ink on the print cartridges.
1. Press Cartridge on the front panel of your SF-4700. The print
cartridges move to the center of the printer.
2. After the print cartridges have moved to the center of the printer,
unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
3. Lift the front panel and open the top cover. Remove the print
cartridges. For details, refer to ‘Replacing the Print Cartridges’ on page
6.9.
Notes:
• Keep new and used print cartridges out of the reach of children.
• Once you have removed the print cartridges, ensure that they are not out
of the printer longer than 30 minutes.
• Be careful not to touch the ink nozzles or the copper contacts. Touching
these parts of the print cartridge can result in clogs, ink failure, or a bad
electrical connection.
4. Grasp the black print cartridge by the top handle only.
5. Dip a clean cotton swab into distilled water and squeeze any excess
water from the swab.
