USING AN EXTENSION PHONE

SENDING A FAX AFTER TALKING (MANUAL TRANSMISSION)

If the other fax machine is set to manual reception, you can talk to the other party and then send a fax without breaking the connection. This procedure is called manual transmission.

NOTE

Automatic redialing (see "If the receiving party is busy" on page 2-8) will not take place if the line is busy.

1 Make sure the machine is in fax mode.

4 Lift the extension phone.

When the [IMAGE SEND] key light is on, the machine is in fax mode.

If the light is not on, press the [IMAGE SEND] key.

If the network scanner option is installed, touch the [MODE SWITCH] key and then the [FAX] key to switch to fax mode.

When fax mode is selected, "FAX" appears in the top half of the [MODE SWITCH] key.

5 Dial the number of the other party or touch a one-touch key.

NOTE

If you have loaded the original on the document glass, you can only send one page by manual transmission.

3 Set the original size, resolution, exposure and other scanning conditions as needed.
