5.19.3 Binary Inputs (6100)

The configuration settings for the binary inputs re in address block 6100. The 7SA511 rel y has ten binary inputs. Up to 10 logical functions can be assigned to each binary input. Refer to the completed worksheets to see if you need to change a binary input function.

For each input function, you can specify whether the fun tion will operate in the Normally Open

(NO) or Normally Closed (NC) mode. All preset input ssignments are set to operate in Normally Open mode, whichBackspacemeans voltage applied to the input terminals activates the function. Normally

Closed mode means normally present voltage removed from the terminals activates the fun tion.

When paging through the vailable functi ns in the s lection level using the oor BackSpace keys, the abbreviated de cription shown in the LCD is followed by an NOor NCindication, which changes from ne to the other when the Noor BackSpacekey is pressed. In this way, the desired mode can be selected when the paging method is used.

When entering the function number directly, the function number can be extended by a0or 1 where 0

.1indicates normally open (NO) mode

indicates normally closed (NC) mode

If the extension is omitted, the function display defaults to NO. This can be changed to NCby

pressing the Noorkey then pressing Enterto select.
