5.3.4 Saving New Settings

Before new setti gs are saved, all configuration and programming changes are stored in the volatile working m mory (RAM). To save new relay settings and store them in nonvolatile EEPROM memory, you mu t press the Yeskey in response to the “SAVE NEW SETTINGS?” message. There are two ways to reach this message:

5.4 Enabling the Relay for Substation Control (Optional)

If the relay is connected to a substation control system through the rear port, you must change several presettings. These presettings include activating the rear port, selecting the data transmis- sion rate, and specifying system addresses.
