Installing Network and Administrative Client Software Administrative Clients

ÊFrom the Show Files Resources pane in the Drives-Network Connection dialog box, select the server where asxtools was installed.

ÊIn the Files Resources in <domain> pane, select ASTOOLS or ASTOOLSD. The

ASTOOLS or ASTOOLSD share contains the Windows NT Server Tools software. ASTOOLS or ASTOOLSD now is displayed in the Path: box with the next available drive letter.

ÊClick on the Connect button.

The connection is displayed in the Network Driver Connections box.

ÊClick on the Close button.

3.In the File Manager window, select the icon for the drive that you just created.

4.In the astools or astoolsd directory, select windows. The system displays the Windows NT Server Tools program files.

5.Scroll to the setup.exe program and follow this procedure.

ÊChoose Run from the File menu to execute the setup.exe program or double-click on the setup.exe executable. (If you choose Run, the system displays a confirmation box. Click on OK to run the file.)

ÊThe system displays the Windows NT Server Tools Setup Program window on the client computer. Click on Continue.

ÊSelect the Install all files button. Windows NT Server Tools will be installed at the root drive in the srvtools directory. The srvtools directory is created for you.

ÊSelect the appropriate entry in the Select Time Zone dialog box.

ÊWhen the Windows NT Server Tools program group has been installed, the system displays a message informing you to edit certain files. (This task is performed in Step 7.)

6.When the installation process is complete, return to the File Manager and disconnect the connection to the shared resource ASTOOLS or ASTOOLSD, as follows:

ÊSelect Network Connections from the Disk menu.

ÊIn the Network drive Connections pane, select the connection to ASTOOLS or ASTOOLSD resource and click on the Disconnect button.

ÊClick on the Close button.
