Installing Network and Administrative Client Software Creating Installation Diskettes

ÊTo create client diskettes at the Advanced Server command prompt

1.Log on to Advanced Server console as "root".

2.Enter the following command located in the /var/opt/lanman/bin directory: makeclients [-f] -d [drives -D <devices> ] <clientpkg>

where

-f	Disables formatting of the diskettes.
-d <drives>	This parameter is not supported.
-D <device>	Specifies the disk device. On Reliant UNIX-N the default is
	/dev/at/vfx3ht.
<clientpkg>	The name of the package for which you wish to create disks.
	Options are lanman, msclient, tcp32wfw and update.wfw.

The makeclients program will prompt you for each diskette in the set of client disks, format them in MS-DOS format, and populate them with the client software.

To create client installation diskettes from an MS-DOS client computer

ÊLog on at an MS-DOS client computer as an administrative user.

ÊConnect to the MSCLIENT share on the Advanced Server by typing the following command at the DOS prompt:

IO ttLy

Replace <d:> with the drive letter and <servername> with the name of the server.

ÊChange to the drive <d:> that connects to the MSCLIENT share.

ÊChange to the directory on the shared resource that contains the client package for which you want to make diskettes:
