Chapter 9

Using Categories

Categories help to organize individual items into groups of items. Each record item in a database belongs to a category. Access this folder-like mechanism through the Categories pop-up list at the upper right-hand corner of the List View screen.

To use Categories:

1.From the List View of a database, tap the down arrow in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.

The Categories pop-up list appears.

2.Select a category:

All indicates that all record items should be displayed.

Unfiled is a fixed category name that is always valid.

Edit Categories brings up a dialog box that allows you to add, delete, or rename category names.

Based on how the database was set up, the pop-up list can contain other categories.

The list of database records in the List View will reorganize according to the category chosen.
