Appendix D

Forms

Each Pylon Pro database on the Palm device can contain exactly one Form. A Pylon Pro Form design has support for up to 128 fields, including the following field types:

Text

Date

Time

Numeric

Keyword

Checkbox

Rich-text (converted to text)

Images (if in a rich-text field named body)

Computed fields:

Computed text (read only)

A computed field formula that calculates each time a user creates, saves, or refreshes a document.

Computed when composed (read only)

Acomputed-when-composed field formula that calculates only once, when the user first creates the document.

In order for the fields to be computed during the sync from the device to Lotus Notes, add $PylonAdvancedFormulas=1 to the Notes.ini file. In the Pylon Configuration database, check Run Compute with Form to enable the functionality.

Lookup—for more information, see “Implementing on-device database lookups” (page 209).

Note Formulas are not supported except for in the Lookup field.
