Accessing Pylon on your Pocket PC OS device

Syncing your Windows Mobile 5 device

Note

Tip

Note

If you have previously been using Pylon on a Pocket PC OS device, the Windows Mobile 5 procedure for syncing is entirely different. You must now use the Pylon icon in the system tray instead of ActiveSync.

To access Pylon on your Windows Mobile 5 device by syncing manually:

1.On your desktop computer, right-click the Pylon icon in the system tray — lower right corner of icons shown below:

A shortcut menu is displayed.

2.If Enable Continuous Sync is selected, click Disable Continuous Sync, then right-click the Pylon icon again to redisplay the shortcut menu.

3.In the shortcut menu, click Synchronize.

4.If prompted, enter your Lotus Notes password to complete the sync.

You can prevent the password prompt dialog box from appearing during future syncs by changing a setting in Lotus Notes. For instructions on how to do this, see “Every time you sync, you are prompted to enter your Lotus Notes user password.” (page 187).

When ActiveSync has completed the sync, you will see confirmation that Pylon successfully synced.

The instructions above are for initiating a sync manually. If you would prefer to have your device sync automatically every five minutes, right- click the Pylon icon in the system tray and click Enable Continuous Sync. If you want to return to initiating syncs manually, right-click the Pylon icon in the system tray and click Disable Continuous Sync.

Syncing other Pocket PC OS devices not running Windows Mobile 5

To access Pylon on your Pocket PC OS device that is not running Windows Mobile 5:

1.On your desktop computer, open ActiveSync.

2.Click the Options button.

3.The Options dialog box appears.
