Troubleshooting
Desktop User Guide for Pylon Conduit and Pylon Pro, Version 5.4 /187
Every time you sync, you are
prompted to enter your
Lotus Notes user password.
This problem can be solved by changing a
setting in Lotus Notes:
1. Open Lotus Notes.
2. Click File|Tools|User ID.
3. Enter your Lotus Notes password when
prompted.
4. Check the box beside Don’t prompt for
a password from other Notes-based
programs (Share these user ID password
with theseNotes add-ins).
5. Click OK.
You will no longer be prompted for your
password during syncs.
Your sync is unsuccessful, but
you are not seeing an error
message.
Check ActiveSync to make sure the option
to sync Pylon is enabled.
1. On your desktop computer, open
ActiveSync.
2. Click the Options button.
3. The Options dialog box appears.
4. Make sure the box beside Pylon is
checked.
5. Click OK.
6. Initiate a sync.
When ActiveSync has completed the sync,
you will see confirmation that Pylon success-
fully synced.
Your first sync returns a
“resolve Items” message
ActiveSync.
Your second sync appears to
work, but no Calendar or To
Do items appear on the
device.
If your Calendar or To Do database con-
tains a record with a foreign character, it
may cause problems in the first sync. To
solve this problem, either remove foreign
characters from your Calendar and To Do
items, or sync again as follows:
1. In your Pylon Configuration document,
set the sync action for your Calendar
and To Do conduits to Desktop
overwrites Handheld.
Note: A Desktop overwrites Handheld
sync will remove all items previously
stored on the device.
2. Sync your device.
3. Set the sync action back to “Synchronize
the files” for two way syncing in future
sync operations.
