Making changes to Custom Field Mapping

Although the Custom Field Mapping section on filter configuration documents contains a list of fields that is specific to each application, it is not listed under the application-specific instructions that follow. It is not listed in the generic instructions below, either. It is a special case, for these two reasons:

■ Pylon’s default field mappings are the best match-up of fields in the Notes database with fields in the device application, so you will probably never need to change them.

■ Typical Notes and Pylon users should not try to modify the default field mappings. If you want to change the default mappings, you should either be a Lotus Notes expert yourself, or bring in a Lotus Note expert to assist you.

That said, here is an overview of what is involved in changing the custom field mappings for a sync filter:

■ In the Custom Field Mapping section of a filter configuration document, the names on the left are the device field names.

■ The default Lotus Notes field name mapped is not displayed.
