How to Set Image Density

Set the exposure according to the contrast of the original that you are sending.

There are two ways of selecting image density: by the automatic image density mode or the manual image density mode.

-In the automatic image density mode, the digital copier automatically judges the contrast of the original, and selects the ideal contrast.

-In the manual image density mode, you can adjust the contrast manually in 7 stages.

If you are sending a dark original, press the

key to lighten the contrast, and if you are sending a

light original, press the key to darken it.

If you do not set the contrast mode, the original is sent at the contrast adjustment value preset in the

transmission mode setting. ( See page 4-24.) Values set here are valid for only one transmission.

Automatic Image Density Mode Setting Procedure

1 Press the

• If the AUTO is already displayed in the message panel, there

is no need to set it.

3 Select AUTO by pressing the key.

4 Press the key to complete the setting.

• To cancel setting midway, press the key.
