Local Networking with Users can share simultaneous access to both the Internet and a remote private Shared Access to the network while they continue to network locally, as shown in Figure 3.

Combined Dial-in and Users can share access to the Internet or a remote private network and continue to Dial-out Access network locally, while a user dials in for access to a server or servers on the LAN, as

shown in Figure 4. (Other dial-in scenarios are possible. Refer to Chapter 8 for specific applications.)
